Every woman longs to have healthy, clear skin.  Below are four ways to improve your skin right now!

Drink Plenty of Water:  Drinking at least 8 glasses of water is no gimmick, it is really the easiest way to improve your skin!  Not only will drinking water hydrate your skin, giving it a more supple feel and a lovely glow, but drinking plenty of water will improve your health overall.  It is important to remember the recommended daily amount of water increases if you drink a lot of coffee, soda or alcohol as these drinks can dehydrate your skin.

Moisturize- It is important to always make sure your skin is hydrated from the inside out, so in addition to drinking plenty of water make sure you apply a good moisturizer during your daily routine, especially if you tend to have dry skin.  There are many different types of moisturizers on the market and there are plenty of versions that will cater to your skin type (normal, oily, dry, sensitive or combination).  If you are unsure which would be the proper moisturizer for you, don’t hesitate to ask for help at your favorite makeup store or counter.

Wear Sunscreen- Even if you are not spending hours under the sun you could still be damaging your skin if you aren’t wearing sunscreen every day. You may not know this, but the sun-kissed tan that many women are after during the summer is actually the body’s way of trying to protect itself from too much sun!  Wearing sunscreen on a daily basis will help to protect you not only from wrinkles and sunspots, but also from more severe issues such as sun poisoning or skin cancer.  Almost all of the major cosmetic brands offer sunscreen versions of their foundation or you can get a light sunscreen that you can apply underneath your makeup which will provide you with the protection that you need.

Wash Your Face- As silly as it sounds, sometimes it is important just to remember to wash your face!  Going to sleep at night without washing off the makeup and oil from the day can cause clogged pores which can lead to unsightly blackheads or pimples.  Make sure you use a good cleanser that is specifically created for the skin on your face so that you don’t cause unnecessary dryness or irritation.
