Meet Yesenia
Yesenia is a six-year-old girl from Ecuador. At home, this second-grader is responsible for carrying water, making beds and running errands. Also, she loves playing house.

Yesenia’s parents are poor and struggle to provide basic necessities for their family. Her father Edgar occasionally works as a teacher and her mother Blanca is a laborer. Yesenia’s brother is named Christian.

For less than a cup of coffee a day, the ChicBlvd Girls sponsor Yesenia through Compassion International — an amazing Christian organization that releases children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Our $32-per-month sponsorship provides Yesenia with life-changing opportunities, including:

  • Educational opportunities
  • Medical checkups and health education
  • Food and nutritional supplements as needed
  • Opportunities to learn life skills
  • The chance to hear the gospel and respond

Writing letters is a great way to build a relationship with Yesenia  and we love the pictures she draws for us!

MORE ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE WITH COMPASSION

We recently visited a few Compassion projects in Bolivia, experienced poverty firsthand and saw that Compassion’s work is trustworthy.  As we started on the journey, we thought we were going to be the blessing to the children but soon realized the children blessed us so much more.

Our hearts were expanded and changed. And now we’re excited to be supporting Yesenia! Compassion’s Child Sponsorship Program is extremely personal —you get to build a lasting relationship with a child. You can even choose your child online.

While in Bolivia, we saw children carrying photos of their sponsors everywhere — and letters from sponsors were often the family’s most prized possessions in the home.

We encourage you to get involved — not only to change a child’s life but also to change your own. Click HERE to sponsor a child!

Compassion is highly rated — At least 80 percent of all ministry expenditures are used on programs serving children and Compassion consistently receives the highest ratings for financial integrity and program excellence.
